POPULAR Muvhango actor Macdonald Ndou is expected to appear in the Booysens Magistrates Court today.

Sunday World reported that Macdonald, who plays KK on the soapie, was bust on Friday with two other people.

The two face charges of impersonating cops, kidnapping and extortion, while the actor faces charges of defending the ends of justice and aiding a criminal.

Hawks spokeswoman Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu said the three were bust at Southgate Mall, south of Joburg. They allegedly tried to extort money from a businessman.

The businessman was allegedly contacted by one of the suspects last month and claimed he was referred to him by his partner.

They met at a mutual place in Isando, Ekurhuleni.

Mulamu said: “On their arrival, the complainant alleged they were joined by two others who presented themselves as cops.

“They then demanded a R100 000 bribe from the businessman to squash the illegal diamonds deal.”

Muvhango had not responded at the time of going to print.
