Socialite and media darling, Khanyi Mbau has opened up about life after breaking up with her boyfriend of nine years, Tebogo Lerole.
According to the starlet, she has been having a “tough” time trying to get over the breakup.
Khanyi was speaking to DJ Fresh on Metro FM’s Fresh Breakfast in her first public interview about the breakup since the couple announced a month ago.
"I don't know where I am right now. Every day is different. There are days where I call him and I'll say something. There are days where I'll call and hate it. There are days where I think it (the breakup) was the best thing. So, I don't know where I am,” said Khanyi.
The Big Secrete host said that dealing with a break-up was not like a movie, you don’t just go on holiday and then you’re over it.
“"It is tough! I am not going to give you a movie and say, like Bridget Jones, that you go to India for four days and you are strong. There are days where you remember all the bad things and you are like 'actually, I'm good'. There are other times where you are like; 'Oh! I'm not good',” she said.
She also took the opportunity to clarify what had happened when she and Tebogo were spotted together at the opening night of The Colour Purple at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein last month.
“It was nine years not nine months. It was a relapse. The first time was at the play and that was the ‘zing-zing’ for the first time in a long time. Do I look away? Do I greet? And then you have this white lady going: ‘Can I please have a picture?’ After the picture, it’s like: You still look great’, and I was like: ‘Thanks.' Then your shame walking in the morning going: ‘Why?” she said.
However this was not the only time that the ex-couple was spotted together since they announced their break-up.
This past weekend, fellow TV personality Kuli Roberts posted a picture of a very cosy-looking night out on Instagram.
In the picture, Khanyi and Tebogo are sitting next to each other and looking very happy.
Tebogo is yet to open up about what exactly is going and how he feels about it.
