MZANSI’S veteran actor Johan Kani is making his way to Burkina Faso where he will be honoured with the Sotigui of Honour for his contribution to the South African creative industry.
The minister of arts and culture Nathi Mthethwa released a statement, in which he congratulated the legendary actor on his latest achievement.
“We join the arts fraternity in congratulating world-renowned actor and Playwright, Dr John Kani, on yet another important milestone, as he travels to Burkina Faso to attend the prestigious ceremony of the Sotigui Awards where he will be awarded Sotigui of honour for his tremendous contribution to the African creative Industry,” the statement reads.
Last week, Dr Kani was honoured with an Ahmed Kathrada for excellence in leadership.
“What an honour to receive the AHMED KATHRADA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP-CHAMPION OF DEMOCRACY from the Congress of Businesses and Economic at a Gala Dinner last night. Thank you South Africa,"he wrote on twitter account.
