SINGER Vusi Nova has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons.

The singer decided to come clean on rumours that he blew R5 million in ten months.

It’s rumoured that he used most of it to buy drugs.

The money was an inheritance from his late mother.

Last week, the singer was on SABC1’s Zaziwa when he opened up about his dark days.

He confessed to spending the money on drugs but his confession was not well received.

Social media came out guns blazing, with many people accusing him of being careless and irresponsible.

The Nomakanjani hitmaker, whose real name is Vusumuzi Nongxa, said he wasn’t bothered by what people think.

“I confessed for a good reason and am glad I spoke about it,” he said.

“These things happen to a lot of people. I wanted to warn others to be aware and avoid falling into the same trap. It was stupid of me and I’m not proud of it. That is why I want it to be a lesson to others.”

Vusi claims to have sorted his life out.

“I can say that I’m clean now,” he said.

Vusi and his co-accused Dr Joseph Safra have a fraud case pending against them.

The two allegedly defrauded their business associate Leon Kruger, who is now dead, of R1 million.
