GOGO NOMHLE NKONYENI BAGS ORDER OF IKHAMANGA AWARD

Veteran Actress Nomhle Nkonyeni, is a seasoned star who has been in numerous Mzansi TV productions. 

The TV icon who is famous for her feisty roles on Igazi, Gaz’lam, Tsha Tsha and many more has been awarded the prestigious Award of the order of Ikhamanga in Silver.

The Order of Ikhamanga is a South African honour and is granted by the President of South Africa for excellence in the fields of arts, culture, literature, music, journalism or sport.

In 2018, Lilian Dube was the recipient of the award for her contribution to the performing arts and raising awareness in women’s health issues through storytelling.

76 year old Nkonyeni, joined hundreds of South African women who took to the streets on August 1 last year as part of the National Shut Down Against Gender Based Violence.

The award ceremony will be held on the 25th of April, at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House.
