AMAPIANO stars Pencil and Zingmaster set the music scene on fire with their songs.

Born Samuel Moripe and Tshegofatso Mabala from Atteridgeville, west of Tshwane, they are the faces behind the popular Malomelome, Serope Kontle, Tshwara and Suna Papa songs.

The two DJs have been producing music together for four years and their light has been shining brighter.

They were also signed to one of the biggest record labels in Mzansi, Mabala Noise, last week.

Their unique genre has been making waves on radio, and at taxi ranks, taverns and clubs.

Whenever people hear their songs, they go crazy.

According to Pencil, during their performances girls jump on stage and go wild.

“They show off their thighs, sometimes their butts while dancing along to the music,” he said.

He said that their songs are summer party tracks.

“We wanted people to enjoy and love our sound, but we didn’t think it would bring out their alter egos.”

Zingmaster said he loves the way people respond to their music.

“When we started the amapiano genre, people were not familiar with it, but now everyone enjoys it and that makes us happy,” he said.

He said that their lives have changed a lot.

“We get emails, inboxes and messages everyday for bookings. We are fully booked for the month already and that didn’t happen before,” he said.

They are working on their debut album, to be released next year.

It will feature artists from their kasi.

“This is a platform for young artists and DJs to show their talent,” Zingmaster told SunBuzz.
