CONTROVERSIAL maskandi star Mthandeni Manqele is at it again.
The artist who is better known as Igcokamelisha has caused a stir on social media with the title of his new album.
He launched his album, Dog Style, at the Workshop Shopping Centre in Durban, KZN on Saturday.
After Mthandeni shared a photo of his new CD on his Instagram page, fan Jukisa replied: “Are you selling a sex CD for R80. Are you for real?”
Gmmakhanya said: “Rise up and enter them from behind.”
Sphephileshe said: “I will buy this one for R5. It is vulgar.”
Automation Dhlamini said: “You are out of ideas.”
But Mthandeni said: “Dog style doesn’t only mean a sex position.
“The album tackles jealousy in the industry. There are a lot of things done by people in the industry that don’t reflect humanity. I’m describing the actions of animals like a dog.
“As maskandi artists, we must do things that will benefit our fans and not create unnecessary fights and hatred.”
He said he was not worried that radio stations would refuse to play his album.
“I have sold more than 10 000 copies in one day and I’m sure radio stations won’t have a problem playing it because there’s nothing vulgar or explicit about it.”
