After taking a break from the music industry, DJ Twitty is back behind the turntables.

Born Philani Khuzwayo, the Durban-based DJ was once signed to DJ Tira’s Afrotainment, but left the record label to be an independent artist.

Now DJ Twitty is back with a hit single titled Angiqondi from his 12-track album Change. It is receiving a lot of airplay.

He said: “I had to give my fans a teaser to let them know I’m going to release a great album. The album is a new chapter in my life and brand.

“At the moment I’m working with Social Creations. It’s made up of 10 people who use a hands-on approach to everything, from images to studio time.

“On the album, I worked with Distruction Boyz, House Victimz and Nontuthu.

“The album is a representation of where I come from and where I want to be.”

DJ Twitty will travel around the country soon to promote the single.

“Next month I’ll be on tour showcasing my album at different venues and radio stations,” he told SunBuzz.

“The album will be released and launched in September.”

Over the years DJ Twitty has worked with international house music icons such as Julien Jabre, Lovebirds, Marc Evans and DJ Roland Clark.

This week he will be performing in Durban and Margate.
