Themba Sekowe, better known as DJ Maphorisa, is part of a relatively long list of high school dropouts who turned out to be just fine in life.

In actual fact, the superstar producer and DJ is doing more than just fine, he is currently proving to be one of the most successful artists to come out of Mzansi having worked with and received production credits from various local and international artists such as Black Coffee, Kwesta,Wizkid and Drake just to name a few.

Despite his success without education, DJ Maphorisa still wants to go back to school and finish what he started.

He told Metro FM that he dropped out in grade 11 when he got his first deal.

"I wasn't going to school when I got the deal. It made me realise that maybe this was possible. I didn't finish school, to be honest. I ended up in grade 11 and I went to college to do A (technical) courses: A1, A2, and A3. That is where I followed my dream. I guess I have to go back" he said.

He said that he sometimes struggles to read contracts with clear understanding and hence he wants to finish his education.

"I am struggling to read contracts and stuff," he said.
