IT has become a common thing for scammers to use famous celebrities’ names to get a quick buck out of desperate fans.
The latest celeb victim who has had their name used to lure desperate aspiring actors is The Queen actress Dineo Moekesti.
A few months ago, the star had to intervene when another fraudster opened an Instagram account using Moeketsi’s pictures claiming she had bought clothes from her.
The 29 year old has had to come out with another warning to fans as scammers are at it again.
“Ok so it seems someone is using my name and scamming folks out of their money claiming to be a casting agent,” she said on social media.
“I am not a casting agent or director for any show!!! Please don't pay anyone to audition, no one pays to audition, that's not how this works,” she explained.
Other celebs who have had scammers using their names for their criminal activities include some of the biggest names in the local entertainment scene in Bonang Matheba, Thando Thabethe, and Nhlanhla Nciza to name but a few.
