Award-winning singer and songwriter, Chris Brown has been set free after being held on charges related to an alleged rape in Paris, France.

Chris and his bodyguard were held on suspicion of rape after a 24-year-old woman claimed to have been sexually assaulted by the singer, the bodyguard and a friend of theirs on the 15th and 16th of this month.

She claimed that the alleged assault took place at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental hotel in Paris.

The 29-year-old RnB singer has now been released by French authorities with no charges having been laid against him.

He is now free to return home but the French authorities did say that investigations into the matter will still continue.
