Actor Tshepo Ncokoane plays the role of Miss
Understanding in the famous musical Priscilla, Queen of the
Desert .
“Priscilla is all about trust, acceptance and love.
“It puts the spotlight on homosexuality and friendship,” he said.
Tshepo said the show is sure to excite theatre fans.
The show follows three drag queens as they make their way through
life and embrace their love of the stage.
The musical is being staged at Cape Town’s Artscape Opera House
until Sunday, before moving to Joburg’s Montecasino Teatro from 29 April to 18
June. A graduate of Tshwane University of Technology, Tshepo told SunBuzz he
loves being part of the wonderful cast.
“My character is a Tina Turner impersonator who runs a club in
Sydney.”
?The three drag artist friends jump aboard a battered old bus named
Priscilla and go on the adventure of a lifetime through the Australian Outback
to perform in Alice Springs.
On the way they find friendship, love and adventure.
With over 500 costumes, 200 amazing headdresses and a hit parade of
dance floor favourites like I Will Survive, Hot
Stuff, Finally, Boogie Wonderland, Go West, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and I
Love The Nightlife, it is a fresh and colourful show.
The show will tour Hong Kong later in the year after its run in
Joburg.
Parental guidance is recommended for kids under 12.

Thursdays and Sundays cost R250-R450 and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays,
