Mzansi superstar rapper Cassper Nyovest and Durban Gqom Music duo Distruction Boyz have been nominated for the BET Awards
“I didn’t know about the BET nomination. My management kept it a secret from me. Found out on twitter. Shout out to all the fans. Imagine if we won this one... My gawd!” Cassper tweeted after finding out.

Cassper and Distruction Boyz have been nominated in the Best International Act category alongside African heavyweights Davido, Tiwa Savage both from Nigeria, and Faly Ipupa from the DRC.
Africa’s chances look very good in the category with 5 representatives but they face stiff competition nonetheless from the likes of United Kingdom’s Stormzy, Stefflon Don and J Hus while France’s Booba, Dadju and Niska complete the list of nominees in the category.
The BET Awards are set to take place on 24th of June in Los Angeles.
