C-UNIT’s talent keeps them on the straight and narrow.
The dance group is made up of Thabiso Malepe (23), Siphiwe Seluma (22) and Katlego Kupa (19) from block T in Soshanguve, Tshwane.
Thabiso, who founded the group in 2013, said they had to choose between substance abuse and dancing.
He said he chose their road because they did not want to become another statistic.
“I was fortunate to meet like-minded people who wanted to change their lives,” he said.
“We want to open a dance studio this year so we can start making money from our talent.
“The studio will be a second home for young people who love to dance.
“We want to set a good example by giving young people hope and showing them that anything is possible if they work hard.”
After sharing the stage with the likes of Lady Zamar, Zinhle Ngidi and Dr Malinga, the group is eyeing the international stage.
“We are planning to tour the world.
“Although we don’t dance for popularity, we are grateful for the exposure we have so far.
“Our group will go far. All we need to do is focus and work hard.”
