CONTROVERSIAL businessman Nico Matlala and Lebohang Mabe have officially parted ways after two months of marriage.

A few weeks ago, Sunday Sun revealed they had split up but the couple denied it in a video which went viral.

Nico confirmed the split to Daily Sun over the weekend, saying he regretted the day he met Lebo.

“I paid R140 000 in lobola to marry her in August because I wanted to spite my exes,” he said.

“That marriage caused me a lot of unhappiness because I wanted to prove to everyone that I was happy.

“She was emotionally abusing me.”

Nico said all hell broke loose on Saturday night when Lebo brought six people to his house, including cops and her stepmum, to serve him a protection order.

“Instead of letting me sign, she started insulting me and wanted to take some of my belongings,” said Nico.

“She wanted to provoke me so I would hit her and get arrested. All I want to say is that I never want to see her again because she is not good news.”

Nico said he started dating Lebo after she contacted him on social media.

“At the time we started dating, she was still with her ex, Shaun. I owe him an apology.”

An angry Lebo also confirmed the break-up.

“Yes, we have broken up and it has been 12 days since I left his place in Centurion, Tshwane,” she said.

“Nico was abusive physically, emotionally and economically. I went to his house on Saturday because I wanted to collect my things but he refused to give them to me.

“He is lying about the lobola. He only gave my family R35 000 which he borrowed from someone.

“He has also created a fake Facebook account using my name. I do not have Facebook or Twitter accounts.”
