Her voice has a beautiful tone that will captivate you and keep you coming back for more.

Lady X was introduced to the world by Mo Flava with his hit Xivumba in 2011.

Known mostly for featuring on other people’s songs, Lady X is now focusing on making her own mark.

She was born Xolisa Mvula (25) in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

Her latest single, It’s On Tonight, features DJ Dino Bravo and is a follow-up to Loving You, which featured Black Motion and Uhuru.

Her new single has been getting a lot of airplay on radio stations.

Speaking to SunBuzz about where her interest in house music began, she said: “I like to think that house music happened to me and I just responded and went with the flow. I had a passion for music from a very young age. I played the violin in the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band.

“I then met Mo Flava and we did Xivumba together. The words just came to me while I was freestyling to the beat.

“Most of my lyrics come to me in the studio. I only write the words down after I have recorded. I go where the music takes me.”

Xolisa works in public relations management for a big company and recently completed her honours degree in brand management at Vega.

“Education is important – I wish other artists knew this. It feels so good to know I can do anything I want to in life because I have an education.”

The singer is also working with Kalawa Jazmee records.
