Sbu loves live music!

accreditation
Sbu will be recording his live DVD on 13 September.

GOSPEL singer Sbu Banda says he will never record any of his own music in a studio.

He wants people near him so that he can connect with them and see how they receive the message of God.

That is why he will be recording a second live CD and DVD. This gospel explosion will take place on 13 September alongside Pastor Benjamin Dube at the Heartfelt Arena in Voortrekker Road, Pretoria.

Sbu said: “My first album was also recorded live. I love the energy and seeing the presence of the Holy Spirit in the venue.

“I once tried recording in a studio, but it’s not my style.”

The singer was born and raised in Mkhuhlu in Mpumalanga.

He said he is still thinking about a title for his new album, but he is strongly considering Pentecost Move.

“In the Bible it is related how the Holy Spirit came to people for the first time during Pentecost.

Believers were speaking in tongues and doing many miraculous things.

This is what I expect to happen on the day of the recording.

People will be filled with the Spirit and will come together to worship God.” His first album, Ungalahli Ithemba, won in the best live album category at the Ingoma Awards. Sbu was also honoured as the best southern African artist at the Kenyan Extreme Awards last year.

Asked if he has seen any growth in his sound, he said: “When I started I was trying to prove myself by doing R&B gospel, but now I know who I am and have found my own sound.”

Tickets for Sbu’s recording are available from Shoprite Checkers and Computicket priced R80 and R200.
