LADY Luck has finally visited Nkosinathi Mankayi.
After trying to make a name for himself over the years, Nathi (32), as he is popularly known, will finally have his voice heard.
His collaboration with Afro-soul singer Vusi Nova on the late Brenda Fassie’s Noma Kanjani has given him the exposure he has been yearning for.
“I am really grateful for the chance I have been given by Vusi because I have been trying to move to Joburg and establish my singing career for a long time now.”
Nathi said that growing up in Maclear, Eastern Cape was blissful but getting a chance to hit the big time there was more difficult.
“There are not many opportunities where I come from.
“I know a lot of talented people who are trying to get this chance I have been given but they are struggling,” he said.
Nathi revealed to SunBuzz that as soon as he has achieved everything that he wants, he will go back home and help those that face the same challenges as he did.
Previously, Nathi scored an opportunity to work with Jaziel Brothers after winning Dare To Dream, a music programme.
Although things did not go as planned for his debut album titled Love, Nathi said he still hopes to wow his fans with his next album, which is due later this year.
He is currently signed under Muthaland/Ghetto Ruff.
