SUPERMODEL Joelle Kayembe has teamed up with the Trace Foundation to support the youth.

The foundation aims to assist Mzansi youth who help their communities by providing long-term development programmes to empower young people.

Joelle was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but moved to South Africa in 1994.

She is involved in a project with 21-year-olds Masego Mlangeni and Gugu Masilela from Tembisa, Ekurhuleni.

Masego dropped out of university due to financial difficulties.

The lack of learning supplies she had to work with also prevented her from doing her work as well as she would have liked.

Masego and Gugu have asked the foundation to help them with study material to help them learn, as well as other students in similar situations.

The foundation will see to it that resources are made available to students with insufficient study materials who strive to fulfil their basic right to a fair education.
