Singer-songwriter Paxton Fiellies is holding her own in the cutthroat entertainment industry despite her young age.

The star intends to have a long and fruitful career and judging by the way it has started, she is well on her way.

She has released her debut album, This is Me and performed all around the country – even taking her talent as far as Russia and Sweden where she performed for the queen.

“I think the secret behind my success even at this early stage of my career, is the chemistry I have with my team,” she told Daily Sun, “my label has been really amazing, my management team, we all have one vision and we’re all working towards it.”

By now, you probably know that the 17 year-old is the youngest winner of popular singing competition South African Idols.

Here are five things you probably did not know about her.

1. "The first thing you probably don’t know about me is that I’m finishing school."

2. "I am addicted to caffeine and bananas."

3. "I can’t make food to save my life."

4. "I can’t swim and I am not going to attempt to swim anytime soon"

5. "I am obsessed with the colour grey."
