TV PRESENTER and actress Khanya Mkangisa has been caught on the wrong side of the law again.
This time, Khanya was arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting an on-duty cop.
The 31-year-old Selimathunzi vixen was initially nabbed in the wee hours of Saturday morning for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in Fourways, north of Jozi.
Informants claimed the sexy celeb was hopping mad and even resisted arrest before punching police officer, Nonsa Dolamo, during the said heated exchange.
The SunTeam has learnt the YFM host appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court dock on Thursday.
This was for common assault and driving under the influence of fire water.
She was released on R1 500 bail and is set to reappear in the same court early next month.
Said Khanya, when given the opportunity to respond to the allegations: “You guys are just out to tarnish my name.
“You never write anything positive about me.”
According to several metro cops, the steamy incident lasted for nearly 30 minutes and took place on Witkoppen Road.
Khanya was then taken to the Douglasdale Police Station’s holding cells.
Insisted the mole: “Khanya was at the time found to be two-times over the legal limit.
“She thought police wouldn’t take action because she’s a celebrity. And she then refused toco-operate when being arrested and even punched the on-duty police officer.”
This is not the first time that Khanya found herself on the wrong side of the law.
In January, Sunday Sun reported that Khanya was in trouble with the law for allegedly refusing to take responsibility following ahit-and-run incident at the Beluga Complex on Ormonde Street in Bryanston, north of Joburg.
Police spokesman Mpho Tshetlhane confirmed that two cases have been opened against Khanya.
He said the men in blue are still investigating both cases.
