LEBOWA Funeral Services held its third annual charity marathon at Seshego Circle Shopping Centre, outside Polokwane in Limpopo.
The aerobics and cycling marathon aimed to create a healthy lifestyle for both young and old.
Lebowa Funeral Services marketing manager George Sethosa said many people easily got sick because of undermining exercise.
“It is a pity the youth of Mzansi have chosen drugs and not exercising regularly can affect their bodies in a bad way,” said Sethosa.
He said the company would continue to serve communities, especially by promoting a healthy lifestyle through exercise.
“We believe a healthy mind in a healthy body can help build and shape our country for the better,” he said.
“We want our people to live a healthy lifestyle so they can live longer.”
He said many diseases affect people because they don’t exercise.
“It is important that we make exercise our everyday duty and fashionable,” one said.
“We are happy that old people continue to form part of this marathon and we believe through their presence we can build a healthy nation.”
One of the veteran athletes, Marriam Choshi (72), said she was happy to be part of the aerobics marathon.
“Exercising every day makes me feel young and active at alltimes,” said Marriam.
