THE ECONOMIC Freedom Fighters in Nelson Mandela Bay will embark on a march on Thursday, 21 October against alleged exploitation and forced vaccination of workers in Gqeberha.

This after the regional leadership met on Tuesday, 19 October amid the growing concerns of workers from various companies allegedly being forced to vaccinate in order to keep their jobs.

Regional chairman Khanya Ngqisha said: “The EFF protest will be directed to Sunnyside, Parkdrive Hospital, Labournet and the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chambers.

“We will demand members of management to engage us. Failure to do so, we will walk in and find the nearest member of management and escort them outside in order to receive and sign our memorandum.”

He said they won’t allow any management to undermine their constitutional right to protest and deliver petitions. “We received a number of complaints from these companies’ employees that they’re being exploited and forced to take the vaccine. We will teach these companies a lesson that they will not do as they wish in our region,” he said.

Ngqisha said they rejected the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chambers’ stance to support a no jab no job policy. “We want to make it clear that no such policy will take place under our watch.

“If needs be, we’ll demonstrate radically to show our seriousness about this issue.

“Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chambers must not be used as a tool by the white monopoly capital to drive its capitalist agenda.

“We also note utterances by Sanlam and Discovery that they intend to discriminate against workers on the basis of vaccination. We are not afraid of Sanlam or Discovery and if they want to test our muscles, they must come. We support vaccination, but our people must never be forced and discriminated against.”
