TV PRESENTER and actress Zola Nombona has been announced as the host of the Royalty Soapie Awards nominees announcement.
Zola will host the awards with seasoned actor Jamie Bartlett.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Zola said: “I was really excited because presenting and hosting is something that I don’t really do and I am always keen for a challenge and an opportunity to learn. So I grabbed the opportunity with both hands when it presented itself.”
The actress, who plays Pamela on Generations: The Legacy, said the announcement ceremony was pre-recorded.
“We currently live in tricky times and we have to be very cautious of how things are planned, which is why I believe that they decided to pre-record the whole ceremony. But people shouldn’t worry. There will be an actual event where people can come in and interact as we have been really missing the human contact for a very long time,” she said.
Zola said that she won’t be the host of the main event, but on the night she will be presenting an award.

Zola, who recently welcomed her baby a few months ago, said being a mum has been a lovely challenge.
“Being an actor I’ve always been taught to dabble in different roles in life and currently, I am wearing these three caps of being a working mum, mother and now a host. It is challenging on its own but the amount of support that I get from my family, my partner and my son has been amazing and it keeps me going,” she said.
Zola shared that she’s stretching herself in as many aspects as she can in the entertainment space.
“My role as Pamela is growing and I am completely loving that. I have a couple of movies that I have been featured in and people are going to love them. I also take a huge leap into the music industry. Things are looking up and this year has been full of blessings all round,” she said.
The nomination announcement will take place on 1 September at 6pm on SABC1.
