SHE didn’t have the wedding of her dreams and now wants to help one lucky bride have her fairytale.
Zodwa Wabantu is giving away her wedding dress, which is worth R18 000, to a deserving makoti.
She said the dress comes with her make-up artist, who would focus on the bride on her big day.
“I wanted a lavish wedding and was willing to go all out, but unfortunately things took a different turn,” she said.
“I want someone else to experience it because I couldn’t live my dream.”
Zodwa said the lucky person shouldn’t worry about her weight.
“If you’re thin my designer will alter the dress to fit you, and if you’re thicker than me the designer will still make means for the dress to fit.”
She said she genuinely loved women and wanted to see them happy.
“As women, we take each other for granted and look down on each other instead of being each other’s pillars,” said Zodwa.
“I know someone out there is madly in love but things aren’t coming together for her wedding.
“So I want the dress and make-up to be the least of their worries.”
She said she saw no point in keeping the dress as it meant nothing to her.
She said: “I’m just thinking about the money I spent on this dress, so the sooner it goes the better.
“I don’t want to sell it because I know it will make someone happy.”
The competition starts this month and will run until February. She’ll provide details of how she’ll run it and criteria to be met by the brides-to-be.
Zodwa and her Ben 10 Ntobeko Linda called off their wedding, which was supposed to take place in July, at the 11th hour.
