A PHYSICAL fight broke out at Obed Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana.

This as patrons demanded to see Zodwa Wabantu on stage but she was nowhere to be seen.

The dancer and entertainer was booked to perform at the Makhadzi Live event on Friday, 26 November but she got sick and had to cancel the gig.

Judging from the video clip, Zodwa’s no-show angered the fans.

They started throwing objects, including bottles, on stage. Someone can be heard appealing to the crowd to calm down.

Aone Galemogwe wrote: “They want Zodwa.”

While Ariel Kapinga commented: “Iyoo I’m screaming, people want to see Zodwa’s kuku.”

On Friday, Zodwa Wabantu had confirmed that she would be part of the event.

She sent an announcement through her social media platforms and wrote: “Tonight Botswana.”

But after seeing the video, she sent an apology and wrote: “I’m so sorry Botswana, Zodwa Wabantu is sick.”

But another event organiser, Tefo ‘DJ Neestie’ Drumboss, said this was not the first time fans reacted this way.

He said: “@zodwalibram do you remember this also happened when we invited you in North West (Tlakgameng) in 2017... People started throwing bottles and stones onto the stage around 3am They were literally fighting us but then you sent us a video apologising to them then they understood because they first thought we lied about you coming.

“Your fans love you. I personally think the event organisers should start updating the crowd if there are any changes. These are people, they can understand... rather than to keep them waiting. ”
