AFRO-POP singer and top 4 Idols SA season 16 finalist ZanoThando has a song for all the lovers who are madly in love.
Titled Isela, the song was released on 16 July under Kalawa Jazmee.
When translated, the word isela means thief.
The singer, whose real name is Sonwabile Ngxito (24) from Rustenburg in the North West, said the song was for everyone who had tasted the kind of love where they actually felt that their heart had been stolen.
“Each and every one of us have their own specific someone who steals their heart away. Those people drive us.
“The song is about that kind of love,” ZanoThando told SunBuzz.
He laughingly said he was not referring to himself on the song.
“But I can relate to the song as this is something that I’ve experienced in my life,” he said.
He said that this was his first single under a big label.

He said before he went to Idols, he had already produced some songs.
“There’s a single titled Umakoti that I released in 2019 and Izulu, released last March. I would say these two singles opened doors for me. People started taking my music seriously and my confidence sky-rocketed,” he said.
“That’s how many doors were opened.”
ZanoThando said the song was available on all official digital platforms.
“It’s doing great so far. There’s positive response. On the first day of release, it trended on Twitter as people were talking about it. Now the support is growing daily,” said the singer.
He said that his fans should expect new offerings from him and other big names he’s working with on studio.
“Soon they’re going to get exciting, energetic and fresh Afro-pop music. I’ve been in studio for a while with big names, cooking up a storm.”
He said among the artists was Blaq Diamond and Aubrey Qwana.
“I don’t want to say when exactly the project will come out because you should not call people to come to the dinner table to eat while the food is still being prepared. You don’t want to upset hungry people, so I’ll announce it as soon as the big project is readily available,” he said.
