Teen Universe South Africa Zandile Masia is getting ready to represent Mzansi abroad.
The 18-year-old matric pupil at Brebner High School in Bloemfontein, Free State, said she wanted to make history and become Teen Universe.
The pageant will be held in Nicaragua, Central America, in April and will see teenagers from around the world compete for the title.
She told Daily Sun she really hoped to bring the crown home.
“I want to be the first African girl to come back with the crown. I want to bring the Teen Universe crown home,” she said.
“I am also hoping to learn more about the cultures of different girls competing for the same title.”

The beauty queen said although the preparation process was stressful, she was ready for the pageants.
“The journey has been life-changing. Preparing for internationals is stressful and overwhelming because I’ll be competing against 39 other countries.
“I believe I’m ready for everything and will give my all,” said Zandile.
“I won Teen Universe South Africa in June and I was publicly announced on 8 August.
“I will be leaving for Nicaragua on 4 April next year, on my birthday, and the pageant starts the next day. Winning this pageant would be the perfect birthday present for myself.”
