ACTOR Wiseman Mncube’s opened an art school in his home region of Zululand, KZN.
Wiseman will teach youngsters acting, dancing, scriptwriting and TV production.
He told Daily Sun: “This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I’m glad it’s finally happening.
“Where I come from, you have to go to Durban or Joburg to fulfil your dreams of being an artist.
“I wanted to change that for those who cannot afford to study further.”
He said he’s been working on the project for two years.

“I initially planned to kickstart everything last year, but had to put it on hold because of the pandemic. Locals are very excited about the project and are also supportive.
“The mayor gave me ownership of the local arts centre to use as a facility for the school.”
He said it will be a full-time programme that will run for six months twice a year and the classes will start between May and June.
“We are in the early stages and I hope everything runs smoothly.”
Wiseman said everything would be free for the students.
“We are not looking to make a profit from the school and I hope sponsors will welcome us as we are doing this to nurture new talent and empower the youth.”
Wiseman, whose Uzalo character is currently behind bars, said he is making a comeback soon. The SAFTA award-winning actor, who has been sharing pictures wearing sangoma attire, said he underwent initiation long ago.
“People shouldn’t be surprised when they see me in the attire.
“It’s who I’m and it’s something I can’t run away from. I’m proud of who I am and my roots and I respect them,” he said.
