Uzalo’s new face, Nothando Ngcobo, says viewers must fasten their seat belts because they are in for a crazy ride with her character, Hlelo.
The 26-year-old actress from Hammarsdale in KZN recently made her debut on the SABC1 soapie, and said people were not going to believe how interesting her character was.
Hlelo moved to KwaMashu with Gabisile, played by Baby Cele-Maloka, which is how she was introduced to the storyline.
Nothando told SunBuzz: “Viewers have met a different Hlelo. In the coming weeks, they will see her growth and see her changing from the girl they were introduced to.
They will not expect it because she comes across as sweet and innocent.
“But behind that, there is a broken woman who does things people would not expect.”

She said she was excited about playing Hlelo because as an actress, she did not know that she could perform at that level.
“I’m glad that through this character, I am able to showcase my talent,” she said.
Nothando moved to Joburg in 2014 to study for her BA in strategic communication, and pursue her acting career.
“My first acting gig was for a Daily Sun movie called My 4-5 Just Sleeps. That was when I realised that acting really was my thing.”
She recently featured on 1Magic’s Lingashoni as Prudence, and has been nominated for Best Newcomer Actress at the Simon Sabela KZN Film and Television Awards for her role on a YouTube movie titled The Swallow Falls On.
