Mduduzi Mabaso is well-known for his fearless gangster roles on screen.

But in real life, the actor has phobias and fears to deal with.

Mduduzi recently had to face his fears of snakes and spiders at Croc City’s Crocodile & Reptile Park near Hartbeespoort, North West.

The star, who plays the role of Mgedeza in Mzansi Magic’s DiepCity, came face to face with reptiles and also put a python around his neck in an effort to conquer his fear.

This was during the exclusive Momentum Insure behind-the-scenes intimate shoot of the Science of Safety web series that will be launched at the end of this month.

While holding the python, Mduduzi said: “I must say thank you to the people who made it possible for me to face my fears.

“I was kind of scared of snakes, but because I managed this, I think I’m ok now.”

He said he felt good he had overcome his fear.

“I’m at a point where I can hold a snake as long as it isn’t poisonous.

“I’m so happy I’m now comfortable with these creatures,” he told Daily Sun.

Mduduzi starred in the recently canned e.tv show Rhythm City as Suffocate, an ex-convict turned businessman

He’s also known for roles in films such Blood Diamond, Machine Gun Preacher and Hotel Rwanda.
