EVEN in times of pain, some people will lighten everyone’s load by making them laugh.
One of these people is Material Mathousand, who attended the funerals of some of the five amapiano artists who died in a car accident recently.
He dressed in outfits he felt channelled their energy.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Mathousand said he knew this was how the victims would have wanted to be remembered.
He wore a graduation gown to Mpura’s funeral and dressed as a skhothane to Killer Kau’s.
Meanwhile, other well-known names found their own ways to pay tribute to the victims.

Rasta, known for his portraits of deceased people, said: “As always, I paid tribute to artistic heroes. These deaths touched me because the artists were so young.
“We are currently faced with a deadly pandemic that’s sweeping through the population, but their lives ended in tragedy. I like amapiano and followed them.”
Maskandi artist Mthandeni “Igcokama Elisha” Manqele cancelled gigs to attend all five funerals.
“We are all musicians, but separated by genres. These are my brothers. We can’t suffer such a big loss and pretend nothing happened,” he said.
“People think we don’t know each other but we meet at gigs. People think I didn’t know Killer Kau because I don’t have pictures with him, but I don’t like taking photos. He was humble, respectful and a great entertainer.”
Killer Kau, Mpura, TD, The Voice and TOT died in the tragic accident.
