THUSO Mbedu has been nominated in the Critics Choice Awards for the Best Actress Award in a Limited Series for her role in The Underground Railroad.
Mbedu plays the role of the enslaved woman, Cora, in the series based on the novel by Colson Whitehead.
This Critics Choice Awards nomination is not her first international recognition.

She recently received the Gotham Independent Film Award for Outstanding Performance in a New Series.
Talking about the character, Cora, in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Mbedu said: “Cora and her journey gave voice to parts of me that I didn’t understand. It felt like I was seen, my voice is being heard. And now that my voice is being heard, what are we talking about.”
