SECHABA Gqeba has joined the SABC under its famous talk station SAfm.

From 1 August, she’ll host the station’s midday show, Living Redefined with Sechaba Gqeba, from 1pm to 3pm weekdays.

She takes over from Phemelo Motene, who left last month to join Kaya FM.

Sechaba is a seasoned host and has over a decade of broadcast experience.

Her commercial radio breakthrough came when she won a region-wide talent search hosted by one of the country’s commercial radio stations and subsequently worked for another commercial radio station shortly after.

She has also worked as a news reader for SAfm and Radio 2000.

Sechaba is also a TV presenter, a seasoned MC and speaker. She also presented Motswako on SABC 2.

The station’s acting business manager, Kina Nhlengethwa, said they are excited to have Sechaba as part of the SAfm family.

“Based on her experience, the station is happy to have her as the new show host for the Living Redefined with Sechaba Gqeba,” she said.
