DURBAN Gen has sent out a warning about a beauty contest scam.
The e.tv telenovela said a poster was doing the rounds stating it would host the contest on 18 December.
Photos of actors Lihle Dhlomo, who plays Dr Precious Dlamini and Mike Ndlangamandla, who plays Dr Lindelani Zulu were used to promote the show.
Spokeswoman Nomfundo Zondi from production house Stained Glass said they had nothing to do with the event.

“We don’t host beauty contests. We’re a TV production company. And we don’t have any beauty contest show coming up. This is a false advert. It’s unfortunate that Durban Gen’s name was used,” she said.
Viewers were also warned on the soapie’s social media accounts about the scam.
Some Instagrammers revealed they were about to submit entries for the contest.
Daily Sun’s attempt to contact the organisers by calling the number on the poster was unsuccessful. The number was on voicemail.
