IT’S a once in a lifetime opportunity for Snenhlanhla Shange (28)!

Snenhlanhla from Waterloo near Verulam, north of Durban, KZN will be feeding Sjava and his team inhloko nophuthu before his concert on Saturday.

Snenhlanhla started her business to raise funds for her graduation in April.

“It is also to raise funds for my outstanding fees at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and to create a job for myself,” she said.

Last Wednesday, Sjava contacted her and asked her to provide catering for his show.

“I believe he found out about my business online and I received some media coverage from newspapers,” she said.

“Sjava motivated me and said he’s giving me a platform to grow my business.

“I only know him through his music but I’m glad he trusted me.”

Sjava has given Snehlanhla Shange a platform.

Snenhlanhla’s business, Nangipha Enterprise, was established last month. She finished her degree in psychology and criminology in December. Snenhlanhla said she was not sure of the number of people she would be catering for but she would meet them later.

She said she owed student fees of R112 000.

“Inhloko is quite popular in KZN. I chose a space with little competition near King George Hospital.

“My clients are patients and their visitors, taxi commuters and drivers. I make a reasonable profit.” Snenhlanhla said she has always loved cooking but has never seen it as a business.

“My gogo, Ntombizonke Shange, taught me how to cook inhloko. When I started this business it was just a way of making fast cash but now my business is booming. If I get a job, I’ll ask my mother to oversee my catering business,” she said.

Nicolas Manyike from Ambitiouz Records confirmed Snenhlanhla will be catering for Sjava and his team.

“She will be providing lunch from Tuesday until Saturday. Sjava approached her because he wanted to uplift her business,” said Nicolas.

The sold out A Night With Sjava will take place at Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre on Saturday.
