Singer and songwriter Simmy is set to headline Heidelberg Jazz Festival.
This comes after songstress Faku has tested positive for Covid-19 and can no longer carry on as the headliner of the show.
Speaking to Daily Sun, one of the organisers Bontle Seboliaone confirmed that Ami was no longer the headliner for the festival, taking place on 4 December at the Kaydale Country Lodge.
“It was very unfortunate to hear that she tested positive for the virus, especially two weeks prior to the event. But, we were able to replace her with Simmy,” she said.
Although a new Covid-19 variant is currently going around, Bontle said they were hopeful that fans would turn up to the event as 60% of the tickets had already been sold.

Besides the music, food and a good time, Bontle said there would be some exciting art stalls at the event.
“There will be cool stalls where local people can exhibit their art to potential buyers. We also have the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation on board to ensure that new and evolving talents in the industry are created and developed,” she added.
Other local musicians who will be performing include The Muffinz, Collin Kgari and Msizi Shembe.
The festival is taking place on 4 December at the Kaydale Country Lodge.
