MUSIC producer and DJ Shimza’s Kunye Festival received backlash from people who attended it.

Tweep Furaha B Tungande posted photos of the drinks menu, complaining about the expensive prices and service at the event.

The festival was held on Sunday, 31 October.

In the thread posted on social media, she shared that she should have opted for Konka instead.

“Do these prices even make logical sense? Then there wasn’t sufficient seating. They should have told us to bring camp chairs because we were at Innesfree Park in 2010. It was either you sat on the grass or stood up. What a mess,” she wrote.

She continued to complain, writing. “Then the champagne was hot. The water was also hot and they ran out of ice. Yesterday was a a joke, my darling. I’m done ranting. Just sharing so people can make an informed decision. Personally, I’m okay. We had to make the most of the situation. What were we gonna do?”

Shimza commented and apologised, promising to do better the next time around.

“Sorry about your experience. In the background, a lot was going on. However, that should never be at the expense of your experience. Will do better next time, and thank you once again for coming,” he wrote.

Another social media user Mashkins said the security guards were removing their tags, even though they still had money.

“Please don’t forget the scam that they were running with the tags. We had to fight to keep our tags because we still had money loaded onto them, and you could request to cash out on the Howler website. The security was cutting off people’s tags and stashing them in a plastic bag,” wrote Mashkins.

Shimza also commented on her tweet, saying she would get her money back.

People on social media attacked Shimza for the bad event, urging him to do better in the future.
