Award-winning musician Ashley Raphala, popularly known as Shimza, has released another summer banger.

The music producer has a new song called Fight to Love, featuring songstress Maleh.

Speaking to SunBuzz, Shimza said that the song was inspired by people from all over the world who are still coming to terms with the ongoing effects of the pandemic.

“The song is very close to my heart because it reflects on a pivotal moment in modern history, where we lost control of our lives,” he said.

The 35-year-old musician said working on the song was bliss.

“I worked on the song with Maleh and this is actually a dream come true for me as I’ve always been a fan of her music.

“Immediately when I finished working on the production of the song, I imagined her voice being laced on it. That’s when I knew that I need to reach out to her.

“She’s very talented and a good person to work with,” he said.

“I don’t regret working with her at all and in the near future she’ll definitely be part of my projects too. But above everything else, I can’t wait for us to perform the song together.

“I know we’re going to blow people away.”

Shimza, who is on tour in Europe, said he’s enjoying his time overseas. He said that he aims to have global domination.

“Things are going back to normal in other parts of the world and I believe that I am in the right space to go and conquer the global market.

“Hopefully, one day I will sell out a festival or a concert internationally, and export more of our South African music to the rest of the world,” Shimza said.

He said that he has a new concept called Kunye, which is like his infamous one-man show.

“The project is concentrated on developing young artists and exporting them and their music to the world,” said Shimza.

“It also gives them a platform to be nurtured by people who are very influential in the music space, so that they can have a contribution in terms of how people view South African music,” he said.

Shimza’s new single is available on all digital platforms.
