FORMER farmworker-turned-MC and entertainer Shimane Bethuky has thanked Somizi for giving him clothes and shoes.

The 26-year-old, whose real name is Bethuel Makgoba, asked for Somizi’s old clothes and shoes on Twitter last month and his wish came true.

The Metro FM presenter sent a parcel to Bethuel’s home in Turfloop, Limpopo, at the end of last month.

He said getting the clothes was a huge blessing, especially as he recently lost his job.

“I was working on a farm and the contract ended at the end of last month. I hosted events as a side hustle, but I’ve decided to make it my main job.

“I asked Somizi for help. I wanted to look gorgeous for every event I was hired to MC.

“I specifically asked Somizi because I’m a huge fan and look up to him.”

Shimane, who’s also a dancer and makes funny videos on social media, said he was scared to ask at first.

“Black Twitter can be nasty.

“I also didn’t know if he’d respond, so I left room for disappointment,” he said.

“Within an hour he did and I was extremely happy.”

Shimane said people now refer to him as Somizi Wa Limpopo. He had also been getting gigs, with his first one taking place next Saturday.

Somizi did not want to comment.
