SHAUN-ICT had a tough life growing up but this never discouraged him from following his dream.
From the age of five, he moved from one place of safety to another with his mum, elder brother, and sometimes even slept on the streets. In 2003, things finally started to get better when his mum got an RDP house in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, and they had a place to call home for the first time.
Besides making afriano music, a mix of Afropop and amapiano, he has started an organisation with his record label to give back to poor families.
The 27-year-old, whose real name is Shaun Talane, said they visited the homes of poor people and bought them groceries.
“We do this every three weeks and we find it fulfilling,” he said.

Shaun-ICT said when he was growing up, he had nothing but lived with the hope that one day things would get better.
“My mum had epilepsy and other conditions. We would be forced to stay alone while she was admitted to hospital,” he said.
Shaun-ICT said luckily, there were people who grew up with his mum who would help them when she was in hospital.
He said finally, social workers who grew up with his mum made arrangements for his family to get a permanent home. He said although she was still ill, getting a proper home improved her condition. His mum Phindi (55) said she thanked God for helping her.
Shaun-ICT said his new single Ngekesivume Ukuyolala was recently released and he would be shooting a video soon.
