ACTOR Sdumo Mtshali has joined SABC3’s newest telenovela, The Estate.

The actor, who will be playing the role of Solomuzi Phakathwayo, told Daily Sun he’s very excited.

“I was over the moon when I was told I got the role because the process was very long and vigorous,” he said.

Sdumo described his character as a young man on a journey of self-discovery.

“On his journey, he’s going to touch on important issues such as narcissism, which in my opinion is a big issue with men and one of the leading causes of gender-based violence,” he said.

His character is in the real estate business, and that’s why the show is called The Estate.

“The estate he owns is built on land that doesn’t belong to him, and there is a war brewing over the land,” he said.

“He kicked people off their land. It’s history repeating itself, but this time it’s black people selling out their own.”

Sdumo told the SunTeam that bringing Solomuzi to life was not easy.

“It’s always a challenge to portray a new character. I hope the viewers at home hate and love Solumuzi because that will be a clear indication I’m doing a good job as a storyteller,” he said.

The actor said he was sad Isibaya had come to an end.

“I’m sad it’s coming to an end, but at the same time I’m grateful to have been a part of such an amazing production,” he said.

“I’m also grateful that it has groomed me into the performer I am today.”

The Estate will premiere in April.

The exact date and time will be announced on the channel.
