NONKU Williams of the Real Housewives of Durban will use TV to inspire women who’ve been victims of abuse.
She will join other housewives – Ayanda Ncwane, Nonkanyiso Conco, Kgomotso Ndungane, Sorisha Naaido and Anne-Tonni Lodick – who are also part on the first season of the reality show.
The show will officially begin on Friday, 29 January on Showmax.
The businesswoman said she joined the reality show to tell her story.

She told SunBuzz: “I needed a platform to tell my story. It’s based on my brand called Ashes 2 Beauty. Ashes 2 Beauty is not just about winery, it’s about my story of survival and triumph. I went through an extensive abusive marriage and I thought my situation would never change.
“It was after I was delivered from that marriage that I understood why I went through what I went through. I want to share my journey with other women and show that indeed, your ashes can be turned into beauty,” she said.
Nonku said viewers are going to see who she is and learn about her.
“People will definitely see a very bubbly character. What you see is what you get. They’ll see my openness to how I perceive life. I’ll teach them that it’s okay to make mistakes, that every day is a promise of something greater to expect, to try again and not allow anything or anyone keep you down,” said Nonku.
The reality TV newbie said working with the group was a great experience.
When asked whether viewers could expect drama, she said: “I tell things as they are. If people call that drama, then I suppose it is. I don’t suck up to anyone.
“It’s either you love me or you don’t. One thing for sure, I’m not a mean vindictive person.
“On my side I get along with everyone. People will definitely learn that as a woman sometimes you need to put on your big panties and get on with life,” she explained.
