Duncan says musicians should rather release their music via hardcopy first and not digitally.

rapper Duncan has taken his time to explain to his fans how music often got leaked by piracy sites.

He specifically spoke about the website Fakaza, that a lot of musicians have complained about.

The Goodbye rapper said piracy websites got ahold of artists’ songs when record labels placed them on digital music platforms.

“How does Fakaza get people’s songs before they are released? The answer is simple, the time the company sends links of the album or the song to digital stores, they take them from there,” he said.

He said unfortunately, they did not know the person behind the site.

“The problem is, the person behind this is unknown. Otherwise, they already have the song or album because they have been loaded on digital platforms. And, they know the release date and send them out beforehand,” he said.

He then advised musicians to release music in hardcopy form before going digital because that made things difficult for piracy sites.

“If you release an album, start with the hard copy. Piracy sites will not release your album first because they would not have it. They work through digital stores,” said the rapper.
