SHE wasn’t sure if she would make it, but she took a risk!
She was caught between waiting for the next year, or going to audition with her pregnancy.
She went ahead and now she’s in the top 16 and blessed with a baby girl.
Phumzile Mseleku aka Ndoni was pregnant when she was auditioning for Idols but now her baby is one month old.
The 22-year-old from Newlands West told Daily Sun that she didn’t think she would make it because singing while pregnant is difficult.
“It was hard for me to breathe and you need to breathe properly when singing.
“I was very nervous, I don’t want to lie. I had a lot of stress, but I told myself that I should do this for her. Look at God now,” she said.
Ndoni said that she thought she would get disqualified because of the pregnancy.
“When I saw people talking about me on social media I was worried but I am glad I made it,” she said.
Ndoni said being in the top 16 feels great.
“I feel very happy, I feel like it’s a miracle. I have a baby and I am no longer pregnant, I will be able to focus and perform properly,” she said.
She said her baby daughter’s name is Nonkazimulo meaning Grace.
“I am doing this for her and my family. I want to make them proud,” she said.
She said that being away from her baby is hard.
“I miss her a lot but I always make video calls at home, they take videos of her and it keeps me going,” she said.
