THE family and friends of late actor Thapelo Maropafela started a petition to push cops to arrest those responsible for his murder.
The 24-year-old actor died in October after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of men while out with his friends. For the past month, his family and friends have been using the hashtag #JusticeForThapeloMaropafela on social media and have now started a petition.
His friend, Taryn Markus, told Daily Sun she started the petition as she has seen how people walk away after committing crimes.
She said they are happy with the support they are getting.

“Over 20 000 have viewed it, over 1 000 people have shared it and over 3 000 people have signed it. We’re grateful to see we are doing something to make sure justice is served.”
Thapelo’s mum, Ivy Masokoane, said they didn’t understand why her son’s alleged killers haven’t been bust.
“The police have been communicating with the family, but no arrests have been made,” said Ivy.
She said they hoped the petition would put some pressure on the cops. At the time, police sources told Daily Sun Thapelo died in his sleep a day before his 25th birthday. Two days after the alleged assault, his girlfriend couldn’t reach him.
“She then called one of his friends and asked him to wake Thapelo up but he didn’t respond. They called an ambulance and he was certified dead on the scene,” said the source.
Police spokesman Captain Kay Makhubele said: “The case is still under investigation. No arrests were made.”
