MANDLA “Mampintsha” Maphumulo is allegedly dodging KZN businessman Melusi Linda.
According to Melusi, Mampintsha was booked to perform at Linda’s Lounge in KwaNdengezi, Durban on 4 December, but never pitched.
Melusi told Daily Sun: “Mampintsha was booked as the main artist at the event, which was called The Gqom Experience With Mampintsha.
“One of the conditions was he would promote the event on his social media pages.”
Melusi said Mampintsha asked to be paid before the event.
“I was communicating with his manager, Sbusiso Ncube. I also paid R15 000 into Ncube’s FNB account. I thought everything was sorted,” he said.
“I started getting suspicious when he failed to promote our event. He only promoted it once and that was four days before the event. I didn’t hassle him about this because we were also promoting it from our side.”

However, Melusi said this was only the beginning of his problems with Mampintsha.
“On the day of the event, I called him but he was no longer answering his phone. Since we had his gig schedule, we decided to send a team to find him,” he said.
“They found him in Clermont performing. After his performance, he agreed to come with my team to my event.
“While he was on his way, he had a fight with his wife, Babes Wodumo. I guess this was the reason why he never arrived and my team came back without him.”
Melusi said he wanted his money back from Mampintsha, but he was nowhere to be found. “Initially, he promised to refund me but he no longer takes my calls. He is dodging me. The only time he answers my calls is when I use somebody else’s phone,” he said.
The SunTeam has seen the proof of payment and when he was contacted, Sbusiso confirmed Melusi paid. “I don’t know why Mampintsha never went to his gig,” he said.
