FOLLOWING her success with Master KG on their hit song Jerusalema, Nomcebo Zikode has released her own album, Xola Moya Wami.

Speaking to SunBuzz, Nomcebo said: “The album is all about things I have experienced in my life.

“It reflects my journey, the many twists and turns, the challenges and missed opportunities.”

The 26-year-old musician said the mood of the album also reflects her state of mind.

“My music comes from the heart. There is nothing on the album that came as a joke. I poured my heart out,” she said.

“This journey has never been easy and if you listen to my songs, they will tell you that I have not had it easy, but I persevered,” she said.

Nomcebo said working on the album was amazing.

“I can’t believe this is finally happening. I have been longing for this for a very long time.

“Working on the album has been amazing. I was working with good producers, who want nothing, but the best for me and who know my sound,” she said.

The songbird, who was recently announced as a cultural diplomacy ambassador by the Department of Arts, Sports and Culture, said she is grateful for the opportunity.

“I was overjoyed when the minister made the announcement.

“I come from a very disadvantaged background and this showed me that in life it doesn’t matter where you come from.

“All you need to do is focus on where you’re headed,” she said.

Nomcebo said that she hopes her music will have a great impact on people’s lives.

“Music is my calling and more than anything I wish my music inspires and changes people’s lives,” she said.

Her album Xola Moya Wami is available on all digital platforms.
