BUSINESSMAN Kgolo Mthembu and his reality TV star wife Anne-Tonni Lodick-Mthembu have opened their hearts to help others.
The couple, which runs businesses in Durban including the popular night club Rich, will lend their workers a helping hand with food parcels.
Kgolo told Daily Sun lockdown restrictions affected their employees badly. “We thought things would be better after the president announced restaurants can operate, but with the recent looting, it will take us time to reopen due to the damage to the property.
“So we thought it would be the right thing to extend a helping hand.”
He said the food parcels were paid for from his own pocket and he will distribute them to his 100 plus workers till the business is back on its feet.
“I do not have the exact estimate of how much it will cost me to renovate as I am still getting quotations.”

Kgolo said the looting broke his heart and left him hopeless. “A lot of people’s livelihoods depend on the place and with the lockdown it was not easy, but they could at least put food on the table. And now this has happened. It is honestly a major setback, one of the last things I expected,” he said.
Although broken, Kgolo said he had hope he would come out strong.
“I come from a disadvantaged background and I only have the things I have today because of my fighting spirit. I have hope that my employees and I will survive this.”
He said: “We have also decided to help 10 families. I have been receiving calls from people in the hospitality sector since the start of lockdown last year, asking for work as they have lost their jobs.
“I helped wherever I could, but I couldn’t help everyone. So I will be lending a helping hand to them. All they need do is send an email to the address on our social media pages and we will contact them,” he said.
