K id X’s new sound celebrates his mum and other women.

The rapper, whose real name is Bonginkosi Mahlangu, said it was always his dream to release a song that celebrates women in the world.

The rapper, whose music has always been inspired by his culture and identity, said this was a way to show his gratitude to every strong woman for the love and care they give to their children.

Kid X released his single titled Mama this month.

The rapper worked with a cappella music group, Thee Legacy, on the song. It is from his latest album Thank Da King, which was released in September last year.

The musician from Middelburg, Mpumalanga, said the song was a way to show appreciation to his mum Florence for all the love she has shown him.

Kid X is happy that her mum, who has been supporting him since he started his music career, can see him prosper while she’s still alive.

“The song is about the love we get from our parents as young people. It talks to us all as individuals, making us appreciate every time we are with them and showing them that we are grateful,” he said.

Kid X said he wants to expose international audiences to his music and continue to inspire other musicians with his unique rapping skills.

He hosted the Mother’s Day show over the weekend at the Artivist restaurant in Jozi. He said this was the most memorable events in his music career as it was always his dream to bring the women who played a huge role in his life together.

The Cooler Bag hitmaker said he plans to host a show like this every year.

“I want men to be responsible and appreciate every woman out there. We are who we are because of them.”
